Coronavirus Guidance & Restrictions

If your holiday is cancelled due to government restrictions, you will be offered one of the following options.

  1. 1.We can re-book your entire stay to a future available date, outside of the declared restriction period, within 12 months of the end of your original booking (subject to any additional cost being paid by you).
  2. 2.If an alternative stay is not convenient for you, we will offer you a full refund.

Where your holiday dates straddle the anticipated beginning or end dates of restrictions (and if already on holiday the restrictions do not allow you to remain until the booked end date) we will offer a refund based on the price for the shorter permitted stay.

If you, or a member of your party, develops Coronavirus symptoms during your stay you must inform us immediately and take a lateral flow test. If this is positive, you must leave immediately, if this is possible. If for any reason it is not possible and self-isolation is required to take place at Hall Cottage, then all fees for all bookings affected by this self-isolation will be borne by the guest.

If you, or a member of your party, develops Coronavirus symptoms within 10 days prior to the start date of your stay, your holiday cannot go ahead and our standard cancellation policy applies. We strongly recommend that you take out Coronavirus Holiday Insurance.

If you have to cancel your stay with us for any other reason our standard cancellation policy applies and you must have your own insurance policy to reimburse you.

Your booking

This is confirmed when you receive written confirmation from us of your stay, by email. Please ensure the details on your booking confirmation are correct, and advise us immediately if there are any errors.

Payment

To secure your booking a booking deposit of 25% of the total cost of your holiday, is payable within 48 hours of the provisional booking being taken (unless otherwise agreed with us). The booking is taken on a provisional basis until the deposit has been paid in full and funds cleared through the banking system (where appropriate). The booking then becomes confirmed. Until the booking is confirmed, it can be cancelled at any time without prior notice.

The balance, along with a breakage deposit of £100, is payable not less than 6 weeks prior to the start of your holiday.  Failure to pay the deposit or balance in full by the due dates will constitute a cancellation of the holiday by the holidaymaker. Please be sure to note the due dates of these payments as reminders are not routinely issued.

If a booking is made less than 6 weeks prior to the arrival date, the cost of your holiday must be paid in full upon booking.

Cancellation by the holidaymaker

In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel your holiday, please advise us immediately and confirm in writing by email to stay@hallcottage.co.uk. We will confirm receipt of your cancellation request by email. In the event of a cancellation, we will attempt to re-let the property and if successful, a discretionary payment may be made. However, we strongly recommend you take out holiday cancellation insurance.

Cancellation by the property owner

We would only cancel your holiday if the property was unavailable for reasons beyond our control.  In this situation, we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. If we had to end your holiday early, due to forces beyond our control, we will refund the appropriate proportion of the monies paid.  Our liability would not extend beyond this refund and there will be no compensation or expenses paid.
